Have you ever been so passionate about something and it aligns you with your non-profit of choice?
As an image consultant, I am so passionate about helping women make a great first impression and lending a hand up to those who need extra help. That passion led me to become a volunteer at Ready for Success* in Minneapolis.
Ready for Success is a non-profit organization that provides low-income women with new and gently-used professional clothing, accessories, and new personal care items suitable for job interviews and the workplace.
RFS is a volunteer-run program of Episcopal Community Services since 2001 and has served more than 12,000 low-income women entering or reentering in the workforce.
The Ready for Success Program is unique from other clothing programs providing:
What I love about this program is it lets me help women that are not so blessed to have a working wardrobe like most of us have. It gives me the opportunity to share my expertise as an image consultant with these women that need my help.
We work together putting three complete outfits together, along with accessories, and undergarments. I want them to get the most out of their wardrobe so we are always mixing and matching all of her pieces to make them work with what she has at home and what she will get in the future. I teach her how to maximize her wardrobe to work for her and get the most of it.
Recently a client told me, “Thank you so much Dawn for making me feel so special and beautiful like a lady again. I can’t wait to come back and have you help me again”.
One of her style words was “Beautiful”, to have her look beautiful every day she puts her outfits on is icing on the cake.
As she builds her self-esteem and confidence with the compliments she receives, she will add more style words to her wardrobe. Having clothes that fit you, fit your body type and wearing the colors that look great on you contribute to how you perform in your day.
I get complete join and satisfaction when they are smiling as they walk out the door. So I ask you, What are your Style Words? Does your wardrobe speak to who you are? Please share a few style words with me in the comments section below, I’d love to hear from YOU.Let me help you discover your personal style by giving me a call at (651) 307-0342
