Introduction to Leadership Presence
A strong leadership presence helps a leader project confidence and integrity both in every day interactions and when the stakes are at their highest. For some, it’s taking a rumpled appearance and making it pressed and impressive. For others, it’s honing shaky presentation skills so they are confident and persuasive.
First Impressions
First impressions are vitally important because they help set the tone for the rest of your interactions, and possible relationship, with another person. It’s so much more than judging your outfit – it’s the feeling that people get when they interact with you. First impressions are inevitable. Learn how to make yours a good one.
Body Language
Your physical response to others is one of the strongest forms of communication. Discover of the position of your body, facial expressions, and eye contact are all just the beginning of how you convey a message to those you meet.
Working a Room
Learn to make the best use of your valuable time when attending business receptions, trade shows or conferences. When you are able to “work” a room with ease and poise, you’ll make the best use of your precious time, and gain useful contacts that will expand your network.
Virtual Communication
Because virtual communication is so common, and removes important body language and eye contact, it’s easy to get lazy and inaccurate. But every email, voicemail, and text becomes a part of your overall professional and personal image. This session covers the application of techno-etiquette to strengthen participants’ leadership presence through communication and across all virtual applications: telephone, email, smartphone, video/teleconference calls, and managing social media including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and more.
Professional Appearance
When you look good, you feel good! The way you dress and take care of yourself helps project your confidence, personality, and capability. Like it or not, you will be evaluated by the way you dress, so use your wardrobe as a tool to help convey strength and self-confidence
