Do you take time to dress appropriately even at home?
What is your image? Is it a positive one? Does it fit being an executive?
We’ve all done it – gone out to run an errand with no makeup on, wearing our “around the house” clothes thinking we won’t see anyone we know. You know the rest of this story! At the moment running out to the grocery store seems more important that taking a look in the mirror to see if you should change first.
Don’t be caught in public wearing your “private” looks. When you run into a client, potential client, or the business person you were trying to reach all week on the phone, you’ll then be focused on how mortified that feeling is of having been “caught” and your confidence will really take a beating! Vow to never put yourself through this risky business. If you’re going out in public, wear your public clothes and your public face. If you network with community members it’s important to represent your best self even in casual settings.
